Website/Blog Flipping

I recently was contacted by a lady named Kim Skinner through a website I am a member of.

In 2007 Kim was fired from her job and had trouble finding a new one. She got on the intenet and started looking for ways that she could make money from home. She struggled for 9 months, while her husband kept them afloat.

She finally came across an article about blog flipping. She decided to give it a try when she read how the guy writing the article built and sold a blog in 24 hours. So she started doing the same thing. Her first blog took her 4 days to build because she had to teach herself how to do it. The article she read only talked about the guy doing it, not how he did it.

So flash forward to today. 2 years later Kim has refined her process and follows a specific blueprint that she came up with to build her blogs. She uses her blueprint to build her blogs and sell them for $100 or more within 3 days.

Kim learned about my website BloggingProfitsBlueprint.com and asked me to review her new book Blog Flipping Made Simple.  She sent it to me and I read through it, and all I can say is it’s a must read for anyone who wants to make some easy money.
Kim walks you through flipping a blog from start to finish.  She shows you how she researches her topics to find a blog that is sure to sell.  She tells you what plugins to use, how to install them, and how to set them up.  She tells you where to find content and extras that make your blog stand out when you put it up for sale.

She then tells you where the best spots are to list your blog for sale, and exactly how to list it.  This is where most books on flipping websites and blogs end.  Not Kims.

Kim takes you through the end of the sale, and tells you how to deliver the blog to the buyer.  She even tells you exactly how she makes recurring income each and every month from some of these blogs, after she has sold them.  This information alone is worth the price of this 65 page book!

The crazy thing is, Kim is only charging $27 right now for this ebook.  Sales hype aside, I can’t believe how low the price is for this ebook.  Similar books with less information are sold for twice that, easilly!

I haven’t contacted Kim back yet, I will be later today.  I’m going to tell Kim what I honestly think of her book, and it’s going to be a good review.  I’m also going to tell Kim that she needs to raise to raise the price of the book to at least $50.  If you follow her blueprint, you’ll make at least $100 for each blog you flip.

Using Kim’s method you will make money flipping blogs.  She guarantees it!  If you build a blog following her blueprint and it doesn’t sell on either one of two auction sites she tells you about, she will refund the price of the book.

She’ll never have to refund a purchase.  Her book lays it out so clearly and makes it so simple, my 4 year old son could do this if he could read.  Go check it out at TheBlogMaker.com/ebook/.

CamStudio Tutorial – Some Basics

I’m a member of the Warrior Forum, a forum for internet marketers.  I met a guy there who I have been helping recently with some advice for his online business.

I provided him some assistance with using G-Lock to cloak his affiliate links.  He also asked me if I could make a video showing him how to adjust the size of the screen capture using CamStudio.  So this video is the result of his request.

I hope you can find it usefull as well.

Wants to make money Right Now?

I want to share a fast way to make money as fast as today.  You can tweak this and use different tactics you’ve learned , like using PPC or other traffic techniques, but what I’m about to show you is a free way to make some money fast.

I’m going to go through it step-by-step, and this can be done in as little as an hour.

Step 1 – Go to Google.com/trends

You’ll find 10 hot search trends that have been updated within the last 2 hours or so.  Below number 10 you’ll see a link to get more hot trends.  Click that and it will take you to a list of the 100 hottest search trends on Google.

Look for search terms that indicate someone is looking for something specific that you can monetize.  Here is one that is listed as I write this post, “pure digital flip ultra series f260 camcorder.”  As I write this, that list was last updated 55 minutes ago, so this something people want right now!

This is something that is hot right now, and you should jump on it fast to try and make some quick money.

Step 2Find an affiliate program

This could be the most time consuming step, depending on where you already have affiliate accounts setup.  Search for a program that you can to the specific product that you want to offer.  Not a landing page, or optin page or anything like that.  A page with the product on it, and a link that lets people buy it right then.

Step 3 - Setup a free blog

Go to Blogger  and setup a free blog real quick.  This won’t work with Wordpress because as of right now, they don’t allow affiliate links on free blogs.  The blog doesn’t have to be something real fancy, we’re not worried about making it pretty or setting up any SEO plugins or things like that.  Just throw it up and get it ready for content.

When you choose your blog name, choose something that has to do with your offer.  This will help with people understanding what it is you have to offer, and that you have what they want.

Step 4 – Write an article about the subject

This is pretty self explanitory.  Write an article about the product you’re promoting.  After you post your article, make sure you have your affiliate link in the article so you can direct people to the product so you get paid.

Step 5 – Social Bookmarking

Go to Digg and other social bookmarking websites and bookmark your page with them.  Visit as many of these sites as you can and get your new blog listed.

Now you’re done.  You’ve spent about an hour doing this now.  Maybe a little more, maybe a little less.

Not all of them are going to work, but you will hit some BIG money makers from time to time.

I don’t have any statistics to give you yet on how well this works.  I just started doinbg another variation of this technique a couple of days ago.  I got to thinking about it and was thinking about the possibility of using free blogs to do this.  Then I saw a guy I know in a forum I’m a member of and he was talking about this.

He is successful about 40% of the time.  Since he is not spending any money to do this, 40% success is great!

Anyway, hope you found this useful.  If you’ve got any ideas to share about this, please post a comment and share with everyone.

The Coolest Affiliate Link Cloaker Ever

So if you’ve been around affiliate marketing for very long then by now you have probably heard that you should cloak your affiliate links.

In case you have not heard this yet, let me explain why. If you already know why skip down to G-Lock link cloaker.

Basically you want to cloak your affiliate links so that no one can steal your commissions. Cloaking is a term used to describe hiding your links. If you have a link that is not cloaked, it might look something like this:

http://www.affiliatelink.com/ref?-kksa2erf

Or something like that anyway.

So if someone knows how to read your affiliate link, which any affiliate will, they can replace your portion of the link kksa2erf, with their affiliate link and steal what would have been your commission. There are also programs out there that will do this automatically.

Well, what I had been doing to hide my links was place them into a redirect script, save it as a .html file, then load it onto my server. I’m not going into everything with it here, but it was still possible to steal commissions from me, and from anyone else using this technique.

Until now! As soon as I found this tool I started switching my links over to this format. There are a few still on this site that I have not switched over as of the time I write this, but the switch will be completed very soon.

G-Lock Link Cloaker

G-Lock has a link cloaker that they introduced in the early part of 2008. I think this thing is pretty cool.

It has 3 fill in the blank fields where you tell it what you want to do. Here is a screen shot of it.

g-lock1

So all you do is take your assigned affiliate link for whatever product you are promoting into the first section titled Affiliate Link. Next you put in where you want the link to go to. This is great if you want to skip part of the site of the product owner.

Let’s say they have a squeeze page and you don’t want your customer having to go through the squeeze page to get to the sales page. You can get the link to the sales page yourself, then put it here and your customer will bypass the squeeze page. To learn more about why you might want to do that, G-Lock has a good explanation here.

Next is the field for the file name. The program is going to generate a .html file that you can load onto your server with your cloaked affiliate link. So the file name is whatever you want to call your .html file for that link. Once you fill that out, your done. Just click save to disk and it will work it’s magic. You will get a popup box asking you where you want to save your .html file.

What this program ultimately does is it encrypts your affiliate link. In the field under where it says Page Source you will see a bunch of numbers and letters. This is the encrypted link. So if anyone tries to steal your link URL so they can steal your commission, all they will see is a bunch of useless numbers.

The best part is, this tool is free. Check it out here.

Four Tips For Testing New PPC Campaigns

Pay Per Click (PPC) marketing is a great way to drive traffic to your site or to an affiliate offer that you’re promoting. I want to spend a little time in this post sharing some information that I learned from my training in PPCClassroom.

PPPClassroom is a great training program and they went way above what I thought they would. If you’re interested in using PPC in your business, I strongly suggest you reserve a spot as soon as they open back up.

In the mean time, here are some PPC testing tips you can try:

1. Watch you budget

When you are first starting to learn about running PPC campaigns, the most important thing to keep in mind is your budget. Nothing is more discouraging than blowing through $100 and having nothing to show for it.

For the first couple of weeks you really want to keep a close eye on your campaigns. Set a daily budget that you can live with. For me I decided that I was going to start out with $50 in my budget. I set my daily limit at $5, expecting my money to last me roughly 10 days.

I had structured my campaigns well enough that it took me 23 days to spend my $50, and I made $120 in sales with it. So I made a $70 profit with my first campaign. I was very happy with that. Thank you PPCClassroom.

2. Build a website based around your campaign

Once you have determined you have a niche that you think is going to be successful for you, build a website around it. You want to fill the website with around 20 to 30 pages that are targeted to your keywords. You want to choose the keywords that generate the most traffic for your campain.

3. Split test your landing page

Once you have your site set up, start split testing your landing page. In case your not sure, the landing page is the first page your visitors see when they come to your site.

You want to split test the landing page to see which page does the best. You can only change one thing between the two pages. Anything more and you have no idea what caused one page to get more visits than the other.

You can run a split test with a free service at Splittester.com. Whatever you do, you need to make sure you track your results and that the statistics are valid.

4. Optimize your campaigns

After you have let your campaign run long enough to get some decent traffic (this will depend on your opinion), drop the loser keywords for the winners. The loosers are those that are not producing any sales. They might be getting clicks, but if you have more than 100 clicks on the keyword and no sales conversions, you probably need to dump that keyword.

Position your keywords for the “sweet spot.” The sweet spot is a position on the first page, other than number 1. The first couple spots are often times tire kickers. They click the link out of boredom, not because they are interested.

Spots 3 and on, are generally people who are interested. This is because if they are still reading the ads in those positions, they are truely interested in finding information about the topic.

When you are looking to start driving targeted traffic to your affiliate offer quickly, PPC marketing is a great way to do it. But be careful you don’t spend too much, and that your keywords are converting into sales.
