Hi John.

In my opinion what seems to be the most common problem is the inability to focus.

That might seem like a broad statement, but it kind of sums up the biggest problem people have. Lack of focus is something that a lot of people struggle with, including me. A lot of people buy a product, ebook, or a course on a segment of marketing but then don't focus on learning and using that strategy. They give it a try for a few days or a couple of weeks and when they don't see immediate results, they abandon the technique as a failure and move on. Usually this is because the next new bright shiny thing comes along and promises untold wealth with little to no effort, and we get distracted.

What we need to do is find a marketing technique that interests us and then stick with that technique. We need to keep working that technique until we have worked out the bugs and are making money with it. Only then should we be looking to expand our base of knowledge into another area.

Just about all of us feel like we need to be making money within hours or days of beginning a marketing campaign, but that's not realistic. We need to look at the process of learning how ton market products on the internet the same way we look at getting a college education.

When we are in college we spend thousands of dollars to learn the theories of whatever it is we are studying. During that time no one is asking us how much money our education has made us. Well learning how to market effectively online is a process that we have to learn also. It just so happens that we have the ability to make money while we are learning.
